The expert conference on thermal system simulation

Knowledge. Exchange. Applications.

On September 22 and 23, 2026, the fourth ThermoSim will take place in Aachen – the expert conference on thermal system simulation with a focus on Modelica and FMI. The conference language will be German, with optional English translation available.

September 22–23, 2026 • Aachen
Cityscape of Aachen featuring historic Gothic and Baroque church buildings with prominent spires under a colorful sunset sky.

ThermoSim brings together experts from industry and research who are working at the forefront of thermal system simulation. Join us for two days of practical, application-oriented presentations, in-depth discussions, and fresh ideas — this year in the heart of Aachen. Meet people who work with Modelica, FMI, and similar tools and models as you do: people who understand your challenges, share them, or have already solved them.

The perfect opportunity to gain practical solutions, fresh perspectives, and valuable connections in thermal system simulation.

Why ThermoSim?

Practice over theory

The focus is on real industrial applications and practice-oriented research. Modelica, FMI, and modern simulation environments provide the technical framework.

Unique concentration of expertise

Offers a very high concentration of expertise in thermal system simulation. Participants bring hands-on experience from energy, building, vehicle, and process simulation.

Direct dialogue with developers

Meet the teams behind tools and libraries such as TIL, Dymola, and Modelon Impact — some of them with more than 25 years of experience in the field.

New formats in 2026

We’re planning even more genuine exchange!

1. Bring Your Challenge: Discuss visions and major challenges with fellow experts

2. Expert Clinic: One-on-one sessions focused on solving concrete simulation problems
